This was only used on the show's intro, as the show did not have a standard identity during this time outside of contextual uses. The "professor" and "mechanical" on-screen bugs were adapted from the new title sequence.

Upon the introduction of the updated "mechanical" logo in 1996, it would be used on everything except the opening sequence. Its last episode on MTV aired in September 2000.

2001-2003[]

120 Minutes - 2001

120 Minutes was revived on the newly-relaunched MTV2 in January 2001. It was often referred to onscreen as "120" during this period.

2011–2013[]

After the show's cancellation on MTV2, it was turned into an unhosted programming block of alternative videos on VH1 Classic (see below). This lasted until 2011 when it was replaced by a hosted series presented by Matt Pinfield, former host from 1995-1999. After this, the 120 Minutes programming block would return.

Upon the rebranding of VH1 Classic to MTV Classic on August 1, 2016, 120 Minutes eventually made its way to the new network starting on August 8, 2016.
