The 1974 FIFA World Cup (branded as WM 74) was the 10th edition of the FIFA World Cup, the global championship tournament in men's association football, held nine stadiums in each city across West Germany and West Berlin from 13 June to 7 July 1974.

The defending champions were Brazil, who won as the previous tournament. West Germany won the tournament at home as the second title against the Netherlands in Olympiastadion, Munich, on 7 July 1974.

Tip and Tap were the mascots of the tournament, a pair of friends wearing of the German football team uniform, together representing as the proposal reunification of Germany between west and east, which succeeded 16 years later. Tip wears the WM shirt, and Tap the 74 shirt.
