In the period from 2016 to 2023, the news program Wiadomości, during the Law and Justice (PiS) government, was accused of becoming a propaganda outlet for the ruling party. On 19 December 2023, the Sejm passed the resolution demanding the restoration of legal order at public broadcasters with 244 votes in favor. At the same time, the Minister of Culture dismissed the authorities of public media, including TVP.

After changes Wiadomości changed name, and on 21 December 2023, as announced, the first edition of 19.30 was broadcast.

The news program has become popular, and on 9 September 2024, the service received a side edition called 14.30, broadcast on weekdays on TVP Info.
