The 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup was the eighth edition of the FIFA Women's World Cup, the global championship for women's national association football teams, held in nine cities across France from June 7 to July 7, 2019.

The defending champions were the United States, who won the 2015 tournament in Canada and won this tournament, beating the Netherlands at Parc Olympique Lyonnais, Décines-Charpieu on 7 July 2019.

On May 12, 2018, a mascot was revealed a pullet named Ettie who is the daughter of Footix, the 1998 FIFA World Cup mascot. FIFA named her from the French word for star (étoile), due to the shining star with which her father was decorated when he was crowned champion, and described her as "a young chicken with a passion for life and football".
