During this period, the prime-time edition also began airing on the then-experimental Frecuencia 9 in 1986, and aired it until it was replaced by a short news bulletin once the channel officially launched one year later.

60 Minutos aired for the last time during the afternoon on 4 April 1988, as part of the failed "Proyecto 88" (basically the beginning of a programming season), and was replaced by TVNoticias later that day.
