On January 24, 2017, Football Federation Australia unveiled a new look for the A-League for the upcoming 2017/18 season. The rebrand stretched to two other football leagues; the W-League and the National Youth League, which became the Y-League. The emblem also changes colours to match the league teams, a first for any major Australian professional sports league.

Following their uncoupling from Football Australia in late 2020, the Australian Professional Leagues underwent a rebrand in September 2021, ahead of the 2021/22 seasons. The new look unites the A-League, W-League and Y-League under one contiguous brand.
