In July 1981, ABWV-5A Western Victoria began transmission. In order to accomodate FM radio, ABRV-3 moved to VHF-11 sometime around 1991. It would move again in 2000 to UHF-42 in order to accomodate digital television in Melbourne. Other relay stations (ABGV-3, ABLV-4, ABMV-4) would also move in 1991 to accommodate FM radio.
