XHTVM-TDT (Canal 40), currently known as ADN Noticias (Azteca, Deportes y Noticias) is a Mexico City-based television channel, which first started broadcasting on June 19, 1995 by Televisora del Valle de México as a news channel. The channel was owned by CNI (Corporación de Noticias e Información) twice from 1995-2002 and 2003-2005, & is currently owned by TV Azteca.

CNI Canal 40 (first era)

Azteca Cuarenta (first era)

1998–2000

On July 29, 1998, CNI started partnering with TV Azteca, resulting in the channel being renamed to Azteca Cuarenta.

CNI Canal 40 (second era)

2000–2002

On July 16, 2000, CNI severed ties with TV Azteca to become an independent TV station, starting a six-year conflict known as el Chiquihuitazo.

Azteca Cuarenta (second era)

2002–2003

On December 27, 2002, TV Azteca was given the XHTVM license; this lasted for less than a month, making it one of the shortest broadcasting periods in Mexican television.

CNI Canal 40 (third era)

2003–2005

On January 24, 2003, the channel changed hands back to CNI for the second time, and continued broadcasting for 28 months.

2005–2006

On May 19, 2005, this logo was shown on HD broadcasts, but remained unofficial due to the channel's shutdown until February 2006; the reason was due to political criticism.

Proyecto 40

2006–2012

On February 21, 2006, TV Azteca began transmiting the under the name of Proyecto 40, turning it into a national network.

On March 13, 2017, TV Azteca renamed the channel to adn40, which broadcasts a news format.
