ANT1, pronounced Antenna, is the leading commercial TV channel in Greece. Launched on 31 December 1989, it is the second-oldest private TV channel in the country after Mega Channel, which launched a month earlier. The name Antenna is a play on words with the Greek name for the number one (ena).
ANT1 is owned by the Antenna Group, the largest media company in the country. ANT1 and its sister channel Makedonia TV are two of the six main commercial free-to-air TV channels in Greece.
ANT1 has several feeds that air in foreign countries: ANT1 Satellite in North America, ANT1 Pacific in Australia and ANT1 Europe in Europe (except Greece and its neighbours).
