ABP: All Points Bulletin was first released on June 29, 2010, for Microsoft Windows in North America, with releases in other regions following shortly after.
On August 17, 2010, Realtime Worlds, the development company behind the game, was placed into administration and the APB servers were shut down shortly after. On November 11, 2010, the rights to APB were acquired by K2 Network. On November 16, 2010, Reloaded Productions, a subsidiary of K2 Network, announced that APB would be relaunched as a free-to-play game in 2011 as APB: Reloaded.
