Aakash Aath is a Bengali-language general entertainment channel in India, owned by the Surana family. It was launched in 1999 as Aakash Bangla, the same year as competitor Zee Bangla, and renamed to Aakash Aath in 2013. (Aath is the Bengali word for the number eight, and it is also used by Sony Aath, a movie channel.)
Besides Zee Bangla, the channel’s competitors are Star Jalsha, Colors Bangla, Rupashi Bangla and Sun Bangla.
