S&O Consultants would be purchased by the London-based Addison Group in July 1988, and its name was changed to Addison Design Consultants to match. It was bought back in 1989 but kept the Addison name.

Ex-Landor duo Phil Seefeld and Alan Brew joined the firm as principals in 1994. The firm would be acquired by WPP in August 1997, who would merge it in October with Sampson Tyrrell to form Addison.
