Founded in 1961, Adria Airways was the flag carrier airline of Slovenia (formerly in Yugoslavia), operating scheduled and charter services to European destinations, and the nation’s only scheduled airline until it filed for bankruptcy on 30 September 2019, ceasing all operations. The company's head office was at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport in Zgornji Brnik, Cerklje na Gorenjskem, near Ljubljana. The airline joined the Star Alliance in 2004 along with Croatia Airlines and the former Blue1 of Finland.
