The Aftenposten (lit. The Evening Post) is a Norwegian daily newspaper founded by Christian Schibsted and first published on May the 14th, 1860, as the Christiania Adresseblad. It is one of the largest newspaper in Norway by circulation, the other being the Verdens Gang. It is owned by Schibsted ASA, under which he founded the publishing company in 1839. The paper is described to have a centre-right, conservative editorial stance, after the liberal leaning Dagbladet.
