After Eight was launched in late 1962 by Rowntree's.
The first remodelling took place in the late 1970s when the logo adopted new letter typography. The makers of After Eight, Rowntree's, was bought by Nestlé in 1988 and most brands were transferred to the new owner.
In 2002, the new visual identity presented, in addition to the addition of the Nestlé logo, new letter typography and more modern design for the traditional watch.
The most-recent modernisation took place in 2009 when the traditional envelope involving chocolates became part of its visual identity, especially on the packaging. In addition, the watch has gained a cleaner design.
