Ahold Delhaize was formed on July 23, 2016 through the merger of Dutch retailer Ahold and Belgian retailer Delhaize Group. The new corporate identity was a tie-up from its predecessors, which were Ahold's crown interlocked with Delhaize Group's lion.[1] It was designed by FutureBrand.[2]
