Air China Limited is a major Chinese airline and is the flag carrier airline of the People's Republic of China. It is headquartered in Shunyi, Beijing. The airline offers both domestic and international flights to different destinations around China and the world.

The phoenix in the form of the acronym VIP was originally drawn by Chinese artist Han Meilin who also created the official mascots of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. "Air China" in Chinese was autographed by then Chinese president Deng Xiaoping. The "phoenix" logo was designed by Shao Xin 1988.

1999–2005[]

A modified version with new font color and new Chinese and English name arrange order was introduced in 1999.

2005–present[]

In 2005, Air China introduced a refreshed logo after announced that the airlines would become official airline for 2008 Olympics hold in Beijing. It keeps same color from 1999 modified logo, but Chinese and English name now have same width and their arrange order are reverse back to 1988 version. It joined Star Alliance in 2007.
