Air China 1988 Logo

The phoenix in the form of the acronym VIP was originally drawn by Chinese artist Han Meilin who also created the official mascots of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. "Air China" in Chinese was autographed by then Chinese president Deng Xiaoping. The "phoenix" logo was designed by Shao Xin 1988.

2007–present[]

In 2007, following Air China joining Star Alliance, Air China updates its logo to fit "A Star Alliance Member" byline, which recolored all text to black and gave the "phoenix" logo pure red color.
