In 1998, in order to keep both Mainland China and Taiwan routes based on Mainland China's restriction, which banned all airlines to enter Mainland China if not terminate Taiwan routes during 1990s and early 2000s, Air France join other European and Australian carriers to lunch Air France Asie ("Asia" in French) which only served Taiwan routes. The brand was cased operation in 2004 after Air France terminated Taiwan routes.

The Air France Asie's logo was very similar to Air France's logo at that time, except the red color was replaced by blue in order to avoid France Flag's color appear on the airline's logo and livery.
