The Aktuelle Stunde is a news programme that covers news from across Germany, with a focus on the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is the main evening newscast of it's broadcaster, the Westdeutscher Rundfunk, and was first broadcast on 3 January 1983.

1985–2009[]
The longest running logo of the programme depicted a triangle that was cut up into three pieces, the last one showing a smaller triangle. It was first introduced for the Aktuelle Stunde in 1985 and was used for it until 2009. The logo has also seen use in the programme West 3 Aktuell.

In 2009, the logo was redone, the old 1985 triangle logo was replaced by a box that rotated towards the viewer from the centre of the screen.

The latest logo was introduced in 2016. The box was replaced by an animation that swiped upwards twice, once for the transition from the intro video the logo, then again for the transition to the studio. In 2019, the main news operations were moved from Düsseldorf to Köln.
