Alaska Airlines is a major American legacy carrier headquartered in Seattle and operating primarily out of hubs on the West Coast. It acquired Virgin America in 2018.
Alaska Airlines joined the oneworld airline alliance in 2021, after forming a partnership with American Airlines.
On December 3, 2023, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines announced that Alaska would buy Hawaiian for $1.9 billion. The acquisition is set to be completed by 2024.
