This logo first appeared on Alco's Manhattan, Kansas location in January 1990, alongside a revamped store model and design scheme. This was in an attempt to breathe life into the chain after their 1989 bankruptcy. A handful of remodels took place across the chain to test the new concept, all received positively. In line with their earlier-projected April-to-June timeframe of increased improvements, the new logo was put to print for the first time on May 1, 1990.
2008–2015[]

During this era, parent company Duckwall-ALCO Stores, Inc. closed all 44 remaining Duckwall's locations in 2010, and renamed the company to ALCO Stores, Inc. in June 2012. ALCO would file for bankruptcy in October 2014, begin liquidating the next month, and their final location would close in March 2015.
