Alliance Air is an Indian government-owned airline operating regional routes using turboprop aircraft. Originally founded in 1996 as a subsidiary of the then-Indian Airlines, it rebranded to Air India Regional in the early 2010s and reverted to its original name after a few years.
After the Tata Group acquired flag carrier Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express in January 2022, Alliance Air is now the only airline to be owned by the government of India.
