América Móvil, S.A.B. de C.V. is a Mexican multinational telecommunications company owned by Carlos Slim, a Mexican billionaire. It operates largely using the Claro brand in Latin America, but uses the Telcel and Telmex brands in its home country. It is the seventh-largest telecommunications company in the world by subscribers, and the largest not owned by a Chinese or Indian company.
Besides Latin America, América Móvil also has a presence in Europe through the A1 Telekom Austria Group, in which it holds a nearly 60% stake. It also has a 16% stake in the Dutch telecom company KPN, making it the largest stakeholder in that company.
