In 1984, Commodore acquired Amiga Corporation which eventually became its subsidiary, called Commodore-Amiga, Inc.[1]

After Commodore filed bankruptcy in 1994, all of its remaining assets were acquired by the German company Escom, which also filed bankruptcy later in 1996.
