Amrita TV is a Malayalam general entertainment channel launched in April 2005. It is owned by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math, a spiritual charitable organisation headquartered in the South Indian Malayalam-speaking state of Kerala, which also runs the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham university.
While not as popular as the longtime market leader, Asianet, or some other popular channels such as Mazhavil Manorama, Flowers TV and Surya TV, Amrita TV has the same variety entertainment programmes as those channels. In this regard it may be compared to Kairali TV and Janam TV.
