This icon was used from iPhone OS 1 to iOS 5. The icon shows Apple's old headquarters, the Apple Campus located in Cupertino, California. The map's data was powered by Google Maps at the time.
2012–2013[]
This icon was first used in iOS 6 as Apple's own mapping software. From this point on, the map is powered by TomTom worldwide except for in China where it is powered by AutoNavi.
2013–2017[]

In 2017, with the release of iOS 11, Apple updated the icon to show the location of their new headquarters, Apple Park.
