Areeba was a telecommunications brand launched by the Middle Eastern company Investcom in the early 2000s in the Middle East and Africa. With Investcom’s acquisition by South Africa’s MTN Group in 2006, the Areeba brand, along with sister brand Spacetel, were progressively retired by 2008 in favour of MTN.
Areeba operated in Benin, Ghana previously (Spacefon and Spacefon–Areeba), Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia and Sudan in Africa; Afghanistan, Syria and Yemen in the Middle East; and Cyprus in Europe.
