1999–2000, 2002-2008[]
In 2001, following the September 11 attacks, the event was canceled and replaced by Vengeance, as WWE felt that the "Armageddon" name would be offensive to the victims of the attacks. The following year, Vengeance was moved up to July and Armageddon was reinstated for December, when it continued to be held annually until the final event in 2008. In 2009, Armageddon was replaced with TLC.
