Asiana Airlines is the second-largest airline in South Korea, after flag carrier Korean Air, and a part of the Kumho Asiana Group. It has been a member of the Star Alliance since 2003 and, along with its low-cost subsidiaries Air Busan and Air Seoul, flies to destinations across Asia and the world.
In November 2020, Asiana Airlines announced plans to merge with its biggest rival, Korean Air, which is a founder-member of SkyTeam. The merger is expected to be completed in a few years, and the Asiana brand will cease to exist.
