In 2000, Astral TV merged with Storm TV and TV Cablu, forming Astral Telecom.

In 2003, the company adopted a new logo and motto.
On July 29, 2005, UPC Romania acquired Astral and folded its consumer brand into the UPC brand. Its business division retained the Astral name until 2007, when it was similarly phased out.
