Astro Awani is a 24-hour Malaysian news channel that first launched in Indonesia on June 15, 2006, followed by its Malaysian debut on September 6, 2007. While it eventually rose to become the most-watched news channel in Malaysia, its Indonesian operations were short-lived; the channel ceased transmission there on October 20, 2008 due to disputes involving Astro Nusantara.

On April 16, 2007, Astro introduced a new 3D-style visual identity across its network, including Astro Awani. Later that year, on September 6, 2007, Astro Awani officially commenced broadcasting in Malaysia.

On December 9, 2024, Astro Awani unveiled a new logo, marking the first major update to its visual identity since its previous iteration.
