The BBC announced that they will completely phase out the 1997 logo for their 100th anniversary. The branding change would happen to all BBC national, regional, local, and spinoff radio stations, as well as BBC World Service. BBC Radio 1 was the first BBC Radio stations to using the new logo, having soft launching on 2 November 2021, with the rest of radio stations following suit from spring 2022.
