bTV is the first private TV channel in Bulgaria, available nationwide. The channel is operated by the bTV Media Group, part of CME (through PPF Group), and reportedly the Bulgarian television channel with the largest viewing audience. It was previously owned by Balkan News Corporation, part of Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation.

The 2000–2006 bTV logo's template was used later for making the 2008–2018 Bulgarian National Television's channels Logos.

On December 6th 2009 bTV along with bTV Comedy updated their logos. bTV Cinema started broadcasting one day later.

bTV added a more gradient design into the channel's logo, and the graphics were changed. In the same year, the channel launched an HD feed on 7 October 2012, thereby becoming the first Bulgarian TV channel to broadcast in high definition.
