BTV was founded in 1998 under the name Q Channel (short for Quick Channel) by one of the founders of RCTI and SCTV, Peter F. Gontha. Q Channel began its pilot broadcast on May 1, 1998 and launched on May 29, 1998.
QTV[]
2005–2011[]

On September 15, 2005, Q Channel changed its name to QTV, which was the first syndicated television station in Indonesia. Its programs include business, information, education and entertainment.
BeritaSatu TV[]
2011–2022[]
On September 1, 2011, QTV was bought by Lippo Group, as they entered the mass media business. The channel then reformatted to 24-hour television news channel and renamed to BeritaSatu TV (based on the news website of the same name) which officially launched on September 3, 2011. It resembles the 2010 Sky News logo.
BTV[]
2022–2025[]
On 11 October 2022, during the opening of Investor Daily Summit 2022, BeritaSatu Media Holdings and BeritaSatu TV were renamed to B Universe and BTV, respectively.
The change was occurred after 80% of its stake was sold from Lippo Group to Enggartiasto Lukita, former Minister of Trade, as well as the final stage of the analogue switch-off in Indonesia. BeritaSatu brand was retained on the website and the news program of BTV.
2025-present[]
On 1 January 2025, BTV updated its logo to focus on entertainment programs, along with the rebrand of IDTV to BeritaSatu as a news channel.
