Babylon's Fall was announced first at Square EnixE3 2018 showcase on June 11, 2018; in 2021, Babylon's Fall received a closed beta test for all countries from late july to mid-august, and the game was launched worldwide on March 3, 2022.
On September 13, 2022, six months after the game's release, Square Enix announced that they would be ceasing its game's servers after its poorly critical and commercial reception which not longer operated on February 27, 2023.
