This logo was used prior to the group's debut album for promotional purposes, such as during performances and on the cover of early singles like the Introducing Backstreet Boys cassette, as well as in smaller text on their 1996 debut album. It was designed by bandmember Nick Carter's mother Jane. Despite being superseded primarily by the 1997 logo, it can still be seen on some merchandise.

This logo debuted on the cover of their eponymous debut album, and would also be used on the various singles associated with the album, as well as on the group's first website.
Debuting with their second album internationally Backstreet's Back, as well as on their eponymous United States debut album, this logo is the one most commonly associated with the group. It was also used on the cover of the "I Want It That Way" single. This logo continues to be used on merchandising, sometimes being used instead of the logo used on the latest album at the time.

This logo would be brought back on the cover of their new single, "Hey", in the lead up to the release of their Millennium 2.0 album which is re-releasing their third album to be released on July 11, 2025 (which was the same day as the second concert residency titled Into the Millennium, held at Sphere, Las Vegas), as well as on the official website.[2]

This logo was used on the cover of the group's fourth album Black & Blue, as well as on the album's singles. Following the release of this album and the 2001 greatest hits compilation The Hits: Chapter One, the group would go on hiatus, but contrary to popular belief would not break up.

The group would return in 2005 with the release of their fifth album Never Gone. This logo would be used on the album's cover, as well as on the singles associated with it.
This logo was used on the cover of the group's sixth album, Unbreakable and its' associated singles. Despite another album being released in 2009 titled This is Us, no single logo was consistently used with it, nor were any of the previous logos used.

This logo was used on the single "In a World Like This", which was included on the eighth album of the same name, one consistent logo was once again used across all releases during this era. This logo would also be used for their 2017 Las Vegas residency Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life and the 2019 "I Want It That Way (Reimagined)" single.

This logo was used on single "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", the cover of the group's ninth album, DNA and its' associated singles. Despite being superseded by the 1999-2000 logo internationally, the Japanese fan club website continues to use this design.[3]
