The first "& More"-branded prototype store opened on March 8, 2000 in Dade City, Florida. The standard Badcock branding was phased out in favor of the new name by the end of 2007. In advertising, the chain's name was often shortened to "Badcock & More".
W. S. Badcock Corp. was acquired by the Franchise Group in 2021, who sold it to Conn's in 2023. Declining sales after this last acquisition would cause Conn's to file for bankruptcy, in which all of its stores would be shuttered by the end of October 2024.
Badcock of South Florida, a franchisee of the chain founded in 1951, was unaffected by these closings, and continues to operate a cluster of stores on the east coast of South Florida.
