Established in 1994, Bakcell is the oldest mobile network operator in Azerbaijan, and the second-largest by subscribers, after Azercell and ahead of Nar Mobile.
In November 2019, Bakcell acquired Vodafone (Ukraine) from MTS, the Russian telecom group.
