Banca Popolare Abruzzese Marchigiana was founded on December 24, 1983 due to a merger of Banca Popolare di Teramo, Banca Popolare di San Benedetto del Tronto and Banca Popolare di Castel di Sangro.
On May 7, 1994, the bank merged with Banca dell'Adriatico.
