On January 1, 1911, the Jesuit priest José María Campoamor founded the San Pedro Claver Workers' Circle, and simultaneously his savings bank as a section of the Circle, whose main objective was to give the working class the opportunity to save.
Caja Social de Ahorros[]
1972-1978[]
In 1972, it changed its name to Caja Social de Ahorros, being consistent in its management with the principles that have accompanied it since its creation: The democratization of credit and the promotion of savings in popular sectors, of middle and low strata, which constitute its target market. From there, the owner of the entity is the Social Group.

1991–1996[]
In 1991, its name was shortened to Caja Social, after being authorized to operate as a bank.
Banco Caja Social (1st era)[]
1996–2005[]
In 1996 it changed its name to Banco Caja Social (it is the same logo as 1991, but with the new name and the thick red line), renewing its commitment to individuals and micro and small businesses in Colombia.
Banco Caja Social BCSC[]
2005–2011[]
The 1996 logo is modified with a modified Bauhaus typography, and adding the initials BCSC (initiating the merger of Banco Caja Social and Colmena, however both banks continued to operate separately until 2011)
Banco Caja Social (2nd era)[]
2011–present[]
In 2011, after completing the merger with Colmena, Banco Caja Social returned to its original name from 1996, and renewed its image, to commemorate the 100 years of the entity.
