Bangladesh Television, commonly known by its acronym BTV, is the state-owned television network of Bangladesh. It was originally established as a branch of Pakistan Television on 25 December 1964. After Bangladesh's independence from Pakistan in 1971, its name was changed to the current one. Its Chittagong station was launched in 1996. It began broadcasting internationally with the launch of BTV World in 2004.
