This version had the name in Helvetica Black, upper and lower case lettering.
Introduced in September 1998, this new logo, in red and blue, dates from the merger with the East Coast entities. Its logo now resembles the American flag although to some observers, the blue area on the flag represents the letter B for "Bank", and the red, A for "America". The logo also resembles a blanket. This logo is still being used in most Bank of America locations.
The Bank of America tweaked its 1998 logo on November 16, 2018. Design by Lippincott.
