The name Malindo Air was derived from Malaysia and Indonesia, which signifies a cooperative pact between these two countries.

2017-present[]
In early 2017, Malindo Air started to gradually introduce the Batik Air Malaysia logo and livery on its aircraft. Then, on 27 April 2022, it was announced that Malindo Air officially rebranded to Batik Air on 28 April 2022 with approval from The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia. This rebranding is in line with the Lion Group’s goal to establish a common identity for the full service airlines within the group.
