In 1971, Bayerische Staatsbank merged with Bayerische Vereinsbank.

In 1998, Bayerische Vereinsbank had its second merger with Bayerische Hypotheken- und Wechselbank to form HypoVereinsbank.

Although Vereinsbank went defunct in 1998, HypoVereinsbank used a secondary logo after the bank closed for good. However, due to UniCredit putting their logo on the main HypoVereinsbank logo (and also closing all assets owned by HVB Group unrelated to the latter), this logo was discontinued in 2008.
