Best Buy Express was founded in 1986 by InterTAN under the RadioShack name.
1997–2004[]
The Source[]
2004–2009[]
In 2004, InterTAN was sold to Circuit City, but they were sued by the RadioShack Corporation due to a breach of the licensing agreement they had signed. The court ruled that InterTAN no longer was allowed to use the RadioShack name, and the stores were rebranded to The Source.
2009–2018[]

Circuit City ceased operations in 2009, and The Source was sold to BCE Inc., and as a result, the "By Circuit City" tagline was removed from the logo.
2018–2024[]

2024–present[]
On January 19th, 2024, Bell Media announced that they had partnered with Best Buy Canada to rebrand 167 of its roughly 355 stores into Best Buy Express, with the first rebranded location opening in Surrey, BC in June 2024.
