Bharti Airtel Limited is an Indian multinational telecommunications company and the telecommunications arm of the Bharti group. Its operations in its home country, where it competes with Vi (formerly Vodafone and Idea), Reliance Jio and the state-owned BSNL/MTNL, make it one of the largest telecom companies in the world by subscribers.
Besides India, it operates in 14 countries in Africa (acquired from Zain), as well as Bangladesh (currently as a joint venture with Robi Axiata), the Channel Islands (as Airtel-Vodafone) and Sri Lanka.
1995–2002[]
2002–2010[]
Until the 2010 rebranding, Airtel’s corporate typeface was set in Frutiger.
2010–present[]
Airtel launched its current logo and a new corporate identity on 18 November 2010. The logo is a stylised letter A, retaining the red corporate colour (which is also used by competitor Vodafone in India and several African countries). Ronnia was the corporate typeface.
2010–2014[]
2014–present[]
Airtel underwent a minor rebrand in 2014 along with the introduction of an advertising campaign entitled The Smartphone Network. Instead of the shiny red arcs used in the 2010 rebrand, large red blobs are used as holding shapes. The Ronnia font has been replaced by Tondo for all corporate applications.
