BETTER LOGO NEEDED

Before Blender was called Blender, it was called "Traces" for the Amiga family of personal computers. The logo is also the same icon for the camera in Traces.

Wordmark

The logo icon was made in Traces, but converted to Blender after Traces' infrastructure became outdated, forcing a new program to be created. The wordmark was created for Siggraph 1999, and was intended to be temporary, since, Blender at the time didn't have any specific font.

Variant with larger iris

After getting investors, Blender needed a new professional brand, and thus designed a new, flat icon, intended to represent an eye, and a hand. The initial wordmark had a larger iris, however, this was later adjusted to be smaller for the final product.
