Launched:  January 2022

A government white paper published in May 2021 proposed bringing railway operations in Great Britain back under state control. The public body responsible for this was announced as Great British Railways (GBR) and a transition team was formed.

The logo for the GBR transition team strongly resembles the logo previously used by British Rail with modified proportions and colour scheme.

As of October 2023, the legislation needed to formally establish GBR has yet to be tabled in Parliament.
