In 2011, two stars were added to Bury's crest to symbolize Bury's two FA Cup wins in 1900 and 1903.
Bury were expelled from the EFL in 2019, and were wound up shortly after, with debts of £15 million. In 2023, the Shakers Community Society (who operated Bury AFC) and the Bury FC Supporters Society (who owned Gigg Lane, Bury's stadium) agreed to merge into Bury FC, with the Greater Manchester side returning to play after 4 years.
