Direct 8

2001–2005 (pre-launch)

Direct 8 was first founded as a production company on 24 July 2001, when the CSA launched a call for a tender to welcome their new channels on the French digital terrestrial television, a new reception mode that increases the number of channels available. Vincent Bolloré presented the Direct 8 project in front of the CSA, which retains it and granted it a broadcast license on 23 October 2002.
